“Giving Beyond Extreme”

“Giving Beyond Extreme” is the slogan for Ark Remodeling And Construction and their adventure in their new BIG project! Ark Remodeling And Construction has been chosen to be the lead build team for the Gainesville, FL edition of ABC’s Extreme Home Makeover show!! We are so excited for them and this amazing opportunity to give back to a family in our community!

Yesterday I had my first planning meeting with the amazing leaders of Ark Remodeling And Constructionabout planning their wrap party. I was honored to have been asked to be the Lead Planner for their wrap party on “move that bus” day. It’s hard to watch Extreme Home Makeover on ABC and hold the tears back through the whole show, so being a part of the Gainesville build and seeing how much heart and love that Ark Remodeling And Construction and all the volunteers involved have put into it already is incredible to watch and I am grateful to be a part of it.

I am so thankful to be a part of the giving, volunteering and planning, but most looking forward to seeing all that Ark Remodeling And Construction has done to help bring this community together with such an amazing gift through Extreme Home Makeover! What an amazing gift April Strickland and the whole Ark Remodeling team has given to one deserving family!

Vogal-Sloan Wedding

November 25, 2009

How fun that our Bride and Groom, Sara and Mark, flew from their new location in California to be married in the Bride’s home town of Gainesville. We loved all the little details that were put into this “natural elements” wedding. From the beautiful flowing dress (from Solutions Bridal), to the hair and makeup done by Salon Mode, to the incredible chuppa created by Prange’s Florist, and the brother of the Bride who officiated the Ceremony and flew all the way in from California.

Our favorite part about this wedding was that the Bride’s brother, Michael, surprised the couple at the end of the Ceremony and had “No Southern Accent” from UF sing a surprise ending song (”All You Need Is Love”) right before the couple made their exit. What a fun surprise!

Celebrate Adoption

November 24, 2009

Most people have been touched by Adoption in some form or another through friends or with in their own family. To us, adoption is very close to our hearts and we are always thankful to be a part of the events with The Children’s Home Society. Thank you to The Children’s Home Society for allowing us to be involved as the official event planners of the Gainesville Celebrate Adoption. Fortunately for the children, this was the best turnout with over 355 people. We would love to hear your story!

It was a joy to see other vendors who came out to participate. Thanks to: Gator Dominos for providing the pizza, TCBY for the ice cream, KCountry for the music and announcements, CocaCola for the drinks, and for SkateStationfor providing the space, skates, and willingness to work with this amazing event.
