Wedding poolside

July 13, 2011

When planning your wedding or next party, here is a fun way to jazz up a “pool party.”

Use easy to remove items to decorate the actual pool such as large floating lights and floral pieces so that in the event of guests wanting to take a dip the pool will easily convert from elegant body of water to pool of fun and games.

Vibrant weddings colors work well with the fun youthful look of a poolside wedding such as fuchsia, fun blues, and bright greens.

Wardrobe can be much more casual being the location and probability of heat. This is sure to make the wedding party smile as not only can they keep cool but in most cases may save a few bucks instead of splurging on a ball gown or tux rental.

For a dramatic effect plan to have the evening start in bright daylight and fade to dark as the night goes on. This will create almost a double venue feel with proper lighting and transitioning music.

Have a DJ or band provide the music so you feel like you’re in a ‘live’ setting while enjoying the fresh air.   Almost as if you were at an ocean front or lake side location.

A couple who wants a more intimate wedding can still have the services of being at a venue, but using the comfort of their own home (or friends).

AXIS Training Studio

July 11, 2011

AXIS Training Studio If you are looking for a great place to train.  CALL AXIS Training Studio!  I have been working with them for over a month now and am very happy with how they train.  They focus on your over all health, not just the outside look of your body.  Your first session is more about your health history and setting up a training program.  It’s a comfortable environment with several trainers to choose from.

They also have massage therapy if you want to add that on after your work out.  I haven’t done the massages yet, but every time I leave a training session I feel better than when I walked in.

Check them out!!

In Florida, outside weddings tend to be very hot for your guests.  Here are a few photos of some examples of water bottles we displayed at a couple summer events.  They can be displayed different ways, casual or formal.  The point is to have something available for your guests to cool off.  For our clients, we can include this set up in any of our packages complimentary.  We want you and your guests to “stay cool.”

Summer time Weddings

July 8, 2011

Summertime in Florida may be picturesque but how can you beat the heat without melting your gown?

*Umbrellas, Fans, and Water. Umbrellas aren’t only helpful for rain showers, they can add shade and block sun for a guest while still easily coordinated to your wedding style. Fans can be coordinated with your invitations or even printed with a personal poem or other message to cool down guests and also used as a favor. Also, water bottles are a must to keep guests hydrated! Fainting guests are not an option!

*Venues with lots of windows that give off an outdoor feel without all that outdoor heat! Any pictures will still have outdoor scenery yet your guests won’t be sweating bullets as you walk down the aisle.

*Ice cold drinks. Take a cue from Jimmy Buffet and offer frozen drinks at your reception. Pina coladas, margaritas, and daiquiris can all be personalized to fit your needs and décor. They also add a fun Florida twist to a traditional bar.  Also try a noon-alcoholic frozen drink that your guests will enjoy!

Hello Brides, Grooms, and other friends of ADORE,

My name is Sabrina and I’m pleased to introduce myself as one of the two summer interns. I’m currently residing in the Gainesville area for school but even more currently (and exciting) for this great opportunity with ADORE Events.

As a college student, changes of major are expected. So towards the end of this past year, I started to explore my second change of major (hopefully the last). In my first year I have enjoyed coordinating events for different organizations on campus and would like to incorporate this into my new major. That being said, prospective major: Event And Recreation Management. How would I decide if this is the right major for me? Hands on experience, an internship of course.

Being an intern for Amy and ADORE Events I have already learned so much when it comes to the event industry, and we are only half way through the summer! The internships at ADORE aren’t like the traditional paper filing, phone calling, and errand running internships at most office jobs (well, sometimes we do those things too).  With this internship we have tons of hands on experience to see the whole event planning process from beginning to end and every detail in between. I have assisted in 3 weddings (Number 4 this weekend!), photo shoots, and countless office hours in preparation for these big events.

Currently my favorite part of the process is day of coordination. Seeing everything that has been planned weeks and months in advanced and the look on the clients face when they see these plans become a reality is a true reward. As far as majors go, as of now I’m thinking this may be the final change.
